Agra, the once bustling Mughal capital, is a historic city and a prominent part of Indian tourism circuit. Jama Masjid is the starting point of this tour. One of the largest mosques of the country, explore its courtyard and then proceed to Mankameshwar Mahadev Temple. Walk through the narrow lanes that have people selling images of gods, goddesses, and ornaments. After this enter the famous Khoya Gali of Chitti Khana and later proceed to Namak Ki Mandi.
Continue the walk from the famous Kinari Bazaar and Spice Market of Rawat Para before exploring two of the most renowned landmarks in the world. The historic Agra fort is your first destination. This colossal fort was the primary residence of Mughal emperors until the year 1638 when the capital was moved to Delhi. The fort resembles a walled city and houses several amazing structures.
Later visit the enchanting marble mausoleum, Taj Mahal. A classic and sophisticated combination of Persian and Mughal architecture, its grandeur and beauty will leave you mesmerized. Taj Mahal was commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan upon the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal and thus became known as the symbol of love.
